How Invisalign® Works
Are you interested in Invisalign® for straighter, more perfect teeth? Invisalign® is an orthodontic treatment that can help you achieve a more beautiful and healthy smile without the inconveniences of metal braces.
Many patients avoid fixing their gapped, crooked, or misaligned bites with traditional braces, due to the fact that metal brackets are ugly, distracting, and painful. With Invisalign®, patients are able to use clear aligners to discreetly shift their teeth into a healthy position.
Invisalign® trays can also be removed throughout the day, making them more comfortable, convenient, and better for your dental health than traditional braces. Dr. Greg Manning at Dentistry at Power Ranch offers Invisalign® for patients wanting straighter teeth without the hassle of metal braces.
During your Invisalign® treatment, Dr. Manning will use computer technology to make impressions of your teeth and create a treatment custom-made for your bite. After charting your treatment path, he will create sets of clear aligners that fit perfectly over your teeth in an essentially invisible fashion.
Each set of aligners will work by slightly shifting your teeth where they need to be. Your clear aligners will be engineered to apply the right amount of pressure during each phase of the treatment to move teeth horizontally, vertically, and even fully rotating teeth when necessary.
The length of your Invisalign® treatment will depend on the current state of your bite, and how committed you are to your treatment. Invisalign® aligners will need to be worn for at least 20 hours a day, and you will need to switch sets of aligners about every two weeks, until you achieve your final results. During your treatment, Dr. Manning will monitor your progress to ensure that your treatment is going according to plan.
In its earlier days, Invisalign® technology was a better treatment option for less severe orthodontic cases. Now, Invisalign® technology is clinically proven to treat even the most complex smile misalignments. Invisalign® is shown to improve everything from gapped teeth to overbites, underbites, open bites, cross bites, and even overly crowded jaws.
Why Choose Invisalign®
There are a number of reasons that patients are choosing Invisalign® over traditional braces and other clear aligner treatments. With all of the clear aligner treatments on the market, Invisalign® continues to remain the best-in-class by continually improving their technology to create a more effective treatments.
Convenience of Invisalign®
If you are suffering from crooked teeth or a misaligned bite, there are a number of reasons why you should choose Invisalign® over its competitors. For one, Invisalign® doesn’t interrupt your life.
With traditional braces, you will need to alter your diet, as to not damage the brackets and wires. With Invisalign®, you can simply take your aligners out while you eat, then put them back in afterwards.
Invisalign® also makes it easier to stay on top of your dental health. Brackets and wires with traditional braces constantly trap food, making your teeth more prone to decay. Not to mention, brushing and flossing around wires is a complete hassle. With Invisalign®, you can remove your aligners to brush and floss in the morning, night, and after eating.
One of the biggest conveniences of Invisalign® is that you can take your aligners out during special occasions, like weddings or big presentations. Not to mention, because they are practically invisible, you can even keep them in without other people noticing.
Comfort of Invisalign®
A big complaint of patients who have undergone traditional orthodontic treatments is that the wires and brackets can be incredibly uncomfortable. They can irritate your gums and mouth, while causing pain when you eat.
The clear and smooth aligners used with Invisalign® will not irritate your gums or cause significant pain during the straightening process. You can also play contact sports without the fear that your bulky metal braces will become damaged.
Health Benefits of Straight Teeth
Did you know that Invisalign® can help reduce your risk of gum disease, tooth decay, and other dental health disorders? While most people decide to undergo orthodontic treatments for cosmetic purposes, straight teeth can also provide a variety of health benefits. The alignment of your teeth directly impacts your overall dental health, in the following ways:
- Healthier gums. When teeth are too crowded or spaced apart, gums can become swollen and inflamed. When your teeth are properly aligned, it is easier for your gums to snugly fit around your teeth without trapping food and bacteria. One of the best defenses against periodontal disease is having teeth that are properly spaced.
- Easier to clean your teeth. When your teeth are overly crowded or crooked, plaque often gets trapped in the nooks and crannies. With Invisalign®, you can not only clean your teeth better during the treatment, but it will also make it easier to keep your teeth clean after the treatment. Not to mention, flossing straighter teeth is much easier than trying to floss gnarled teeth.
- Improve your overall health. Your teeth and gums directly impact your overall health, confidence, and appearance. Studies show that patients with gum disease are more likely to develop heart disease, diabetes, and other health issues. By keeping your teeth healthy and aligned, you can also avoid problems commonly associated with jaw misalignments, like difficulty chewing, increased wear on your enamel, and speech impediments. With Invisalign®, you can address orthodontic issues, improve your dental health, and have a beautiful smile.
